The Latency of Stars

Settles in the moon,

with the streetlights

and latency of stars,

a yellow tree

outside my window

flashes orange

and gold

with the wind.

The outlines of green

consume yellow

in its original state.

Natural cycles,

astrological fire,

freeze,

left untouched,

flow.

A sturdy tree, now

peppermint, honey

pink, once

polka-dotted vision

and accordion playing,

the graphite filled chalkboards

at subjected supermarkets.

The moon

is warm tonight,

as breath

gives form

to the stars,

my folded hands,

legs, adjusting to snow.

I am latent

among the stars

yet I do not hide.
